Tasty Marmalade Loin Steaks Recipe

What You Need for this recipe:
  • 1/2 C of orange marmalade
  • 2 tbsp butter or margarine
  • ¼ tsp rosemary
  • 4 lean beef loin steaks, fat trimmed
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
How to Make It:
  1. Preheat the broiler.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, stir together the marmalade, butter and rosemary.
  3. Heat the mixture for 3 minutes, stirring often, until melted and hot.
  4. Place the steaks on a broiler pan and season with the salt and pepper.
  5. Broil 4 inches from the heat for 17 minutes, turning once, for medium cooked steaks.
  6. Brush the steaks with the marmalade mixture during the last 5 minutes of broiling.
  7. Place the steaks on dinner plates and top with the remaining marmalade mixture.
Makes 4 servings

Steaks aren’t as difficult to cook as many people believe. The timing of your steaks is everything though. To cook a medium rare steak, broil them about 14 minutes, for medium broil them about 17 minutes and for well done broil them for about 20 minutes. Make a small cut in the middle of the steak to see if they are cooked just the way you like them.

Custard Ice Cream Recipe



Even though it is cold, ice cream remains a popular dessert at any meal especially dinner parties as it can be taken care of without any problems if you have an ice cream maker such a the Cuisinart Ice-50bc Supreme Ice Cream Maker.

Here is your recipe for custard ice cream.

First of all keep in mind that if you allow the custard to cool down a little before placing it in your machine you will have better and faster results.

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons cornflour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 or 3 eggs
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 cup cream
  • Pinch of salt
Method:

  1. Bring the milk to boiling-point
  2. Pour the milk onto the cornflour and sugar that are mixed
  3. Return to the saucepan and stir the mixture until it is thick and smooth, you have to stir all the time to prevent lumps
  4. Allow the mixture to cook for about 3 minutes
  5. Slightly beat the egg yolks
  6. Pour the hot mixture over the egg yolk
  7. Return to the saucepan once a gain and stir until the egg is cooked.
  8. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla essence and the pinch of salt
  9. Let the mixture cool down and then add the slightly whipped cream to it
  10. Freeze according to the instructions of you ice cream maker

This may sound like a little more work than other ice cream recipe, but the tasty end result is well worth the extra work.

Tasty Saturday Afternoon Apple Pizza Recipe

Here is your Saturday afternoon apple pizza recipe

What You Need:
  • 1 (12 in.) prepared pizza dough crust
  • 2 TBSP olive oil
  • 2 tsp. garlic, minced
  • 2 C fresh spinach, coarsely chopped
  • 1 1/2 C Granny Smith apples cored, peeled and chopped
  • 1 C Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 C Blue cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 C Parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 1 tsp. oregano
How to Make It:

  1. Place the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the garlic and cook 2 minutes being sure to stir a couple of times during cooking.
  3. Place the prepared pizza dough on a pizza pan.
  4. Brush the olive oil and garlic mixture over the entire pizza crust.
  5. Bring the oven temperature to 450 degrees.
  6. Spread the spinach evenly over the crust.
  7. Add the apples evenly over the spinach.
  8. In a large bowl toss the 3 cheeses together until well combined.
  9. Sprinkle the cheeses over the top of the entire pizza.
  10. Sprinkle on the oregano being sure to cover the whole pizza.
  11. Bake 13 minutes until cheese has melted and the crust is a nice golden brown.
Serves 4 pieces

Moms deserve to treat themselves too. This pizza is the perfect way to enjoy a lazy Saturday afternoon.

Veggie Soup Medley Recipe

What You Need:

2 (14.5 oz) cans diced tomatoes with green chili peppers
1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 (15 oz) can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
1 (10 oz) pkg. frozen corn
1 C onion, diced
2 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
1 (1 1/4 oz) envelope chili seasoning mix
1 C water

How to Make It:

Dump the cans of tomatoes with the juice into the crock pot.
Add the kidney beans and chickpeas into the pot.
Place the frozen corn and onions in.
Stir in both cans of tomato sauce until well combined.
Sprinkle in the envelope of seasoning mix.
Pour in the water and stir to incorporate all the ingredients together well.
Cover and cook on the low temperature setting 6 hours.

Serving Size: 6

This vegetable soup has a great chili taste due to the green chilies and seasoning mix. Experiment with different vegetables until you find just the right ones for your taste.

Homemade Soup Recipe - Seafood and White Fish Soup Recipe

Winter is here and there are no better welcoming food to serve your family than a tasty homemade soup with freshly baked bread. A good homemade soup is nutritious while it is also comfort food. Treat your family to this tasty recipe!

With your slow cooker you can be away all day and the soup will be ready when you return as it is programmable and the same goes for the breadmaker as it is programmable and you can set it to have the bread ready at the time you want it.

Here is a soup recipe to try out and serve with your homemade bread. It may be a little too big for a Cuisinart PSC 350 3 1 2 Quart Programmable Slow Cooker, but as it is for 8 people it is easy to half the quantities for a small family. With this recipe you will have to finish it of with another 45 minutes cooking after you return home.

Seafood and White Fish Soup Recipe

What You Need:

  • 2 C onions, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped fine
  • 5 cloves of garlic, mined
  • 1 (28 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (8 oz) bottle clam juice
  • 1/2 C water
  • 1 T red wine vinegar
  • 1 T olive oil
  • 2 1/2 t dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 t sugar
  • 1/4 t red pepper flakes, crushed
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 lb. white fish, cut into 1 in pieces
  • 3/4 lb uncooked medium shrimp, shelled, deveined and tails removed
  • 1 (6 1/2 oz) can chopped clams with juice
  • 1 (6 oz) can crabmeat, drained
  • 1/4 C fresh parsley, chopped

How to Make It:

  1. Place the onion, celery, garlic and tomatoes into the slow cooker.
  2. Pour in the clam juice, water, vinegar and oil.
  3. Sprinkle in the Italian seasoning, sugar and pepper flakes.
  4. Stir the mixture to combine all the ingredients together well.
  5. Add the bay leaf and stir again.
  6. Cover the slow cooker and cook on high 4 hours.
  7. Add the fish, shrimp, clams with the juice and crabmeat to the slow cooker.
  8. Lower the heat to the low setting, cover and continue cooking 45 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  9. Remove the bay leaf before serving and sprinkle the top with the parsley.

Serving Size: 8

A dry white wine can be used in place of the water if you like. If you use a wine choose a dry white wine such as Sauvignon Blanc or a Chardonnay.
