Tasty Circle Munchies Recipe

It does not matter which holiday it is, or even when it is not a holiday, these cookies will always be a hit. Kids and adults alike will love them. If you have a mixer such as one of the KitchenAid Artisan 5-Quart Stand Mixers, making these will be a breeze. Tasty and spicy cookies are always popular with everyone and these cicle munchies will be no exception.

So, if you have an electric mixer, such as one of the KitchenAid Artisan 5-Quart Stand Mixer, you can start mixing and baking because even for the summer vacation the kids will love them.

Tasty Circle Munchies Recipe

What You Need for this circle munchies recipe:
  • 3/4 C butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 C + 2 T sugar, divided
  • 1/2 C brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 t baking soda
  • 1 1/2 t cinnamon, divided
  • 1/2 t ginger
  • 1/8 t salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 2 1/4 C flour
  • Semisweet chocolate pieces
How to Make It:

  1. Place the butter in the mixing bowl of an electric mixer such as the KitchenAid Artisan 5-Quart Stand Mixers.
  2. Beat the butter on low speed for 30 seconds.
  3. Pour in 1/2 C sugar, the brown sugar, baking soda, 1/2 t cinnamon, ginger and salt.
  4. Beat with a mixer, such as one of the KitchenAid Artisan 5-Quart Stand Mixers, on medium speed until well combined.
  5. Add the egg and vanilla and continue to beat until completely incorporated into the mixture.
  6. On low speed beat in the flour in it is completely moistened.
  7. Divide the dough in half, cover and chill 1 hour or until the dough can be easily handled.
  8. Place the oven temperature on 350 degrees and allow the oven to heat while finishing the cookies.
  9. Combine the remaining sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl.
  10. Lightly flour a flat surface and roll out half of the dough with a lightly floured rolling pin to 1/4 in thickness.
  11. Cut the cookies with a scalloped cookie cutter.
  12. Cut a 1 in circle in the center of each cookie.
  13. Place the cut cookie dough on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  14. Sprinkle the cookie dough with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  15. Press the candies into the cough.
  16. Continue in the same manner with the second half of the dough.
  17. Bake the cookies 10 minutes or until lightly born and firm.
  18. Cool on the cookie sheet 2 minutes then move to a wire rack to complete cooling.
Serving Size: 36 cookies
