Halloween Recipes For Children - Halloween Oatmeal Cookie Triangles

Halloween Oatmeal Cookie Triangles
What You Need: C butter, softened to room temperature
  • 3/4 C brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 t vanilla extract
  • 1 C of flour
  • 1 C quick cooking oats
  • 1/2 t baking powder
  • 1/2 t baking soda
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1 (12.6 oz.) bag of Halloween M&M’s
  • 1/2 C chopped pecans
  • 1/4 C sweet coconut, flaked

How to Make It:

  1. Preset the oven temperature to 350 degrees.
  2. Generously spray a 12 inch pizza pan with a non stick cooking spray.
  3. Place the softened butter in a small mixing bowl.
  4. Add the brown sugar and beat on low speed until creamy.
  5. Bread the egg in the bowl and add the vanilla.
  6. Beat on medium speed until well combined.
  7. Stir in the oats, baking powder, baking soda and salt until blended in well.
  8. Stir in 1 C of the M&M candies.
  9. Press the batter onto the prepared pizza pan.
  10. Sprinkle the top of the batter with the pecans and coconut.
  11. Press the remaining M&M's into the batter.
  12. Bake 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  13. Cool on a wire rack then cut into triangles.

This quick and simple cookie pizza will brighten any child's Halloween.  If you can't find Halloween M&M's in your local store go www.mms.com and order your own customized candies or you can buy regular M&M's and use only the orange and brown colored ones in this cookie.  The rest of the M&M's can be placed in a bowl for everyone to munch on during the party.
