Tastier Brownies Than Ever Recipe

Everyone loves Brownies. They are easy to make and very tasty. With summer coming they are ideal to take with you on a picnic. If you have an electric stand mixer, such as one of the KitchenAid Artisan 5-Quart Stand Mixers or one of the Cuisinart SM-55 5-1/2-Quart Stand Mixers, making these Brownies with this recipe is very easy.

Better Brownies By Far Recipe

What you need for this Brownies recipe:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, cold
  • 8 oz. bittersweet chocolate, chopped fine
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp real vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 8 big peanut butter cups, chopped up
Method for this Brownies recipe:
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and coat a 9x13 baking pan with a little butter.
  2. Put 1 cup butter and bittersweet chocolate in heavy saucepan over low heat and melt, stirring and watching closely; set aside.
  3. Put eggs and sugar into a bowl and mix with a beater on medium high speed until light yellow and fluffy.
  4. Lower the beater speed and slowly add the chocolate mixture, then add the vanilla, keeping the beater running.
  5. Continue with the beater on low speed and slowly add flour, incorporating before adding more, then sprinkle in the salt and be sure it's mixed in.
  6. Stop beater, and with large spatula, fold in the chopped up peanut butter cups.
  7. Transfer the mixture into your buttered baking pan.
  8. Bake in preheated oven about 30 to 35 minutes, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean and the edges pull away from the pan.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool in pan, then cut into squares to transport to picnic or enjoy immediately.
So, make these to pack for your picnic, whether it is to the lakeside or to the beach, they will be very popular. No reason, of course, why you cannot eat these tasty Brownies at home! So, get baking for lots of tasty fun. Do not replace the butter with margarine, it will really affect the taste.

Fun Dessert Recipes - Homemade Ice Cream

It's summer and time for Fun Dessert Recipes. Here are some more tasty and easy Ice Cream Recipes. What can be a more fun and tasty dessert recipes than ice cream?


Pink Berry Custard Ice Cream
What You Need:
  • 2 C of strawberries
  • 1 C sugar, divided
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 3/4 C half and half, divided
  • 1 t vanilla
How to Make It:
  1. Clean and cut the strawberries in half.
  2. Place the strawberries into a saucepan.
  3. Dump half of the sugar into the pan with the berries.
  4. Place the pan over medium low heat and cook 18 minutes or until the berries are soft, stirring often.
  5. Place the mixture into the blender.
  6. Cover the blender and puree the berries until very smooth.
  7. Transfer of a bowl, cover and chill at least 4 hours but no more than 24 hours.
  8. Place the egg into a small saucepan.
  9. Pour in 1 C of the half and half and the remaining sugar.
  10. Place the pan over medium heat and stirring continuously cook the custard about 5 minutes or until the mixture passes the metal spoon test (see tip below.)
  11. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and stir in the remaining half and half and the vanilla.
  12. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 4 hours but no longer than 24 hours.
  13. Pour the half and half mixture into the ice cream maker's freezer canister.
  14. Freeze 5 minutes then stir in the strawberry mixture.
  15. Freeze according the ice cream maker's directions.
  16. Allow the ice cream to ripen for 4 hours.
Makes 8 servings
When making a custard type of ice cream it is important to cook the egg mixture to right stage. To check the mixture place a metal spoon into the mixture and coat the bottom part of the spoon. Remove the spoon and run your finger down the spoon. If the finger trail is clear the custard is done.

Supreme Blueberry Ice Cream

What You Need:
  • 3 C of fresh blueberries
  • 2 C of sugar, divided
  • 2 t orange peel, shredded fine and divided
  • 1/3 C orange juice
  • 4 C of whipping cream, divided
  • 2 T flour
  • 4 C of milk
  • 4 egg yolks, beaten lightly
  • 2 T of vanilla
  • 1 t ground cinnamon
  • 2 C pecans, toasted and chopped
How to Make It:
  1. Place the blueberries into a saucepan positioned over medium heat.
  2. Stir in 1/2 C sugar, 1 t of orange peel, the orange juice and salt until well blended
  3. Bring the mixture to boil and using a fork stir and mash the blueberries well.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and simmer the mixture 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  5. Remove and allow the mixture to cool slightly.
  6. Reserve 1 C of the mixture and set aside.
  7. Place the remaining blueberry mixture into the blender.
  8. Cover and blend until the mixture is smooth.
  9. Press the mixture through a fine sieve placed over a mixing bowl, discarding any solid pieces.
  10. Add 1 C of the whipping cream to the blueberry mixture and stir to combine.
  11. Cover and chill for 4 hours up to 24 hours.
  12. Place the remaining sugar and the flour into a saucepan.
  13. Gradually add the milk, stirring as you add, until well blended.
  14. Place the pan over medium heat and cook, stirring continuously for 5 minutes or until thick and bubbly.
  15. When the mixture becomes thick and bubbly, cook and stir the mixture for 1 more minute.
  16. Remove 1 C of the mixture and stir it into the egg yolks.
  17. Fold the yolk mixture into the mixture in the saucepan.
  18. Stirring continuously, cook the mixture just until it begins to boil.
  19. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vanilla and cinnamon.
  20. Cool slight, cover with plastic wrap and chill for 4 to 24 hours.
  21. Chill a large bowl in the refrigerator.
  22. When the bowl is chilled add the remaining whipping cream and beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until soft peaks form.
  23. Fold the whipping cream into the second chilled mixture until completely combined.

Fun Dessert Recipes - Homemade Ice Cream
Chocolaty Toasted Almond Ice Cream
What You Need:
  • 6 T of cold water
  • 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
  • 3 C of milk
  • 3 C of sugar
  • 1/4 t of salt
  • 3 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 7 (1 oz.) squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
  • 4 C of heavy whipping cream
  • 2 t vanilla
  • 1 C slivered almonds, toasted
How to Make It:
  1. Pour the cold water into a small mixing bowl.
  2. Sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water and let stand for at least 2 minutes.
  3. Pour the milk into a heavy saucepan and place over medium heat.
  4. When the milk reaches 170 degrees whisk in the sugar and salt.
  5. Stirring continuously, cook the mixture until the sugar has completely dissolved.
  6. Place the eggs into a small mixing bowl.
  7. Pour 1/4 C of the hot milk into the eggs and whisk until well combined.
  8. Pour the egg mixture into the pan with the hot milk, whisking as you pour.
  9. Place the heat on low and stirring constantly cook the custard about 5 minutes or until it coats the back of a metal spoon.
  10. Remove the mixture from the heat and stir in the gelatin mixture until completely dissolved.
  11. Blend in the melted chocolate.
  12. Quickly cool the custard in an ice water bath for 5 minutes.
  13. Stir in the whipping cream and vanilla until well blended.
  14. Press plastic wrap onto the custard surface and chill the custard overnight.
  15. Fill the ice cream maker cylinder 2/3 full of mixture and freeze according to manufacture's directions.
  16. Stir in the toasted almonds and allow the ice cream to ripen at least 2 hours.
Makes 2 quarts
When adding nuts to homemade ice cream be sure to always follow the directions on the recipe. If nuts or fruit are added to soon they become hard and loose their flavor.

Red Cherry and Pecan Ice Cream
What You Need:
  • 1 (10 oz.) jar red maraschino cherries,
  • 2 C half and half
  • 2 C whipping cream
  • 1 C brown sugar, packed
  • 1 T vanilla extract
  • 3/4 C pecans, chopped
How to Make It:
  1. Drain the cherries and reserve 1/3 C of the juice.
  2. Chop the cherries and place in a mixing bowl, set aside.
  3. Pour the reserved cherry juice into a large mixing bowl.
  4. Add the half and half and whipping cream.
  5. Dump the brown sugar into the mixture and stir until the sugar has completely dissolved.
  6. Fold in the vanilla extract.
  7. Pour the mixture into the freezer canister of a 5 qt. ice cream maker.
  8. Freeze according to the manufacturer's directions on your ice maker.
  9. Stir in the cherries and pecans until well blended.
  10. Allow the ice cream to ripen 4 hours.
Makes 16 servings
This ice cream is extra cream and tastes great plain. For a little added fair try drizzling chocolate syrup over the top or try it in your next shake.

Double Chocolate Toffee Ice Cream

What You Need:
  • 1 C of sugar
  • 1/4 C unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 C whipping cream
  • 1 C of milk
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1/8 t salt
  • 3/4 C chocolate covered toffee candy, chopped
How to Make It:
  1. Place the sugar and cocoa powder in a large mix bowl and toss to combine.
  2. Pour the whipping cream and milk into the bowl.
  3. Add the vanilla and salt and stir until the sugar has completely dissolved.
  4. Pour the mixture into the freezer canister.
  5. Freeze according the manufacturer's directions.
  6. Stir in the toffee pieces and allow the ice cream to ripen 4 hours.
Makes 8 servings


A great way to serve this ice cream is in a chocolate dipped cone:

  • Place a 1/2 C of semisweet chocolate pieces in a microwave safe bowl.
  • Microwave the chocolate at 70 percent power or medium high heat for 1 minute.
  • Stir and continue microwaving for 1 to 3 minutes or until the chocolate is smooth.
  • Dip the cones into the melted chocolate about 1/3 of the way up the cone.
  • If the chocolate is too thick, stir in 1 t of melted shortening.
  • Place the cones top side down on wax paper until the chocolate is set.

Velvety Soft Serve Mocha Ice Cream

What You Need:
  • 1 1/2 C of sugar
  • 2 1/2 T of instant coffee crystals
  • 4 C of milk
  • 1 T vanilla
  • 2 C of whipping cream
  • 1/2 C miniature semisweet chocolate pieces
How to Make It:
  1. Place the sugar into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the coffee crystals to the sugar.
  3. Pour the milk over the top of the sugar.
  4. Add the vanilla and stir until the sugar and coffee have completely dissolved.
  5. Add the whipping cream and stir well to combine.
  6. Fold in the chocolate pieces until blend in well.
  7. Pour the mixture into the freezer canister on the ice cream maker.
  8. Freezer as directed by the manufacturer.
  9. Ripen the ice cream for 4 hours.
Makes 16 servings
It is important to ripen this ice cream. Even when it's ripened it will have a velvety soft serve consistency.

Old Fashioned Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream

Here is a tasty recipe for homemade ice cream - vanilla ice cream. Vanilla ice cream will always remain a favorite and this old fashioned homemade ice cream recipes will delight your family!

What You Need:
  • 1/2 C sugar
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1 C of milk
  • 3 egg yolks, beaten
  • 1 T vanilla
  • 2 C whipping cream, chilled
How to Make It:
  1. Dump the sugar into a heavy duty saucepan.e
  2. Sprinkle the salt over the sugar.
  3. Pour the milk into the saucepan and stir to combine.
  4. Add the egg yolks and stir until all the ingredients are combined together well.
  5. Place the pan over medium heat and stirring constantly cook 3 minutes or until bubbles begin to appear around the edges.
  6. Remove the pan from the stove and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
  7. Stir in the vanilla.
  8. Pour the ice cream into a refrigerator try and place in the freezer 45 minutes or until mushy.
  9. Place 2 bowls in the refrigerator to chill.
  10. Add the whipping cream to the chilled bowl and beat with an electric mixer until soft peaks begin to form.
  11. Spoon the partially frozen ice cream mixture into the second chilled bowl.
  12. Beat with the mixer on medium speed until smooth.
  13. Fold the whipped cream into the mixture well.
  14. Pour the ice cream evenly into 2 refrigerator trays and cover with wax paper.
  15. Freeze at least 3 hours or until firm stirring the ice cream mixture about every 10 minutes for the first hour of freezing time.
Makes 1 quart of ice cream
To make this ice cream in a crank style ice cream maker, follow the above directions to where you add the vanilla. Add the vanilla and whipping cream together. Pour 1/2 of the mixture into the freezer can of ice cream maker. 

Fill the freezer tub 1/3 full of ice and then add the remaining ice cream. Crank until it becomes too difficult to turn. Drain off water, replace the lid and allow the ice cream to ripen for at least 4 hours.
