Tasty Glazed Spiced Pumpkin Slices Made Easy With One Of The Cuisinart SM-55 5-1/2-Quart Stand Mixers

Cooking for family and friends on holidays is a pleasure. It can be a lot of work though, sometimes! But if you have all the kitchen gadgets and appliances, such as one of the Cuisinart SM-55 5-1/2-Quart Stand Mixers, cooking is simply that much easier. Here is a tasty recipe for Glazed Spiced Pumpkin Slices that becomes very easy if you have one of the Cuisinart SM-55 5-1/2-Quart Stand Mixers:

Glazed Spiced Pumpkin Slices

What You Need:

  • 1 3/4 C flour
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 t cinnamon
  • 1/2 t nutmeg
  • 1/4 t cloves
  • 1/4 t baking powder
  • 1 1/3 C sugar
  • 1/2 C butter, cut up and room temperature
  • 1 C canned pumpkin
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 t fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 1/4 t orange peel, grated and divided
  • 1 C powdered sugar
  • 1 1/4 T milk
  • 1/4 t vanilla extract

How to Make It:

  1. Place the flour into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and baking powder.
  3. Whisk all the ingredients together until completely combined.
  4. Pour the sugar into a separate bowl.
  5. Add the butter and beat with an electric mixer, such as one of the Cuisinart SM-55 5-1/2-Quart Stand Mixers, on medium high speed 4 minutes or the mixture become smooth and fluffy.
  6. Add the pumpkin and eggs to the sugar mixture.
  7. Place the ginger and 2 t of the orange peel to the sugar mixture.
  8. Beat with the electric mixer on medium speed about 2 minutes or until all the ingredients are incorporated together well.
  9. Gradually add the flour, beating as you add on low speed, until all the flour has been added and the ingredients are incorporated together.
  10. Turn the oven temperature to 350 degrees and allow the oven to heat.
  11. Spray a loaf pan with a non stick cooking spray.
  12. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  13. Bake 55 minutes or until the sides begin to pull away from the pan.
  14. The top should spring back when lightly touched.
  15. Remove the pan and allow to cool 10 minutes before turning the bread out onto a wire rack to finish cooling.
  16. Place the powered sugar into a small bowl.
  17. Add the milk and vanilla extract and whisk until smooth.
  18. Add in the remaining orange peel and whisk until incorporated into the glaze well.
  19. Use a bread knife to slice into 12 pieces.
  20. Spread the pieces out on a large baking sheet.
  21. Place the glaze into a pastry bag or small baggie with a small hole cut in one corner.
  22. Drizzle the glaze over the pumpkin slices.
  23. Allow the glaze to set before eating.

Serving Size: 12

Pumpkin bread is a favorite at Christmas time. Cutting the bread into slices and then drizzling the glaze will give each slice an extra bit of glaze. This bread can be frozen for up to 2 weeks after it's baked

Tasty Marie Biscuit Cake

Here is an exceptional cake that I simply know your guests will enjoy. If you have one of the Cuisinart SM-55 5-1/2-Quart Stand Mixers You will make it quickly and easily. You can decorate the cake as you wish but butter cream, made with one of the Cuisinart SM-55 5-1/2-Quart Stand Mixers as well is very tasty. My favorite, though is strawberry jam, whipped cream and nuts!

Here is our recipe:

Ingredients:

  • ½ lb. Butter
  • ½ lb. Marie biscuits
  • 1 Cup chopped almonds
  • ¼ Cup milk
  • 6 Eggs
  • ¾ Lb. yellow sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 Dessertspoon cocoa
  • 1 Teaspoon baking powder

Method:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Prepare three cake tins
  • Cream the butter and sugar in your mixer
  • Add the egg yolks one at a time
  • Add the almonds
  • Beat the egg whites until stiff
  • Fold the egg whites into the butter mixture
  • Fold in the finely crumbled Marie biscuits
  • Sift the cocoa, baking powder and cinnamon
  • Fold this mixture into the butter mixture alternating with the milk
  • Pour the mixture into your cake tins
  • Bake for 30 minutes until done

You can clearly see that without one of the Cuisinart SM-55 5-1/2-Quart Stand Mixers making this cake will be a major operation. With one of the Cuisinart SM-55 5-1/2-Quart Stand Mixers it becomes very easy.

Tasty Orange Cake

I love an orange cake and this one is very tasty. You can serve it with whipped cream if you wish or you can even serve it with custard as a very tasty dessert.

It is very important to cream the butter and sugar very well for this recipe and for that it is ideal to use one of the Cuisinart Sm-55 5-1/2-Quart Stand Mixers to make this very easy. It is also important that when you add the eggs one at a time that you mix in each egg thoroughly before you add the other.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup soft butter
  • 2 Tablespoons on range peel
  • 1 Teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 2 Cups of flour
  • 1 Cup chopped dates
  • ½ Cup chopped nuts
  • 2/3 Cup sour milk
  • 1 Cup sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 Eggs
Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to350 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Prepare a bread pan
  3. Cream the butter and sugar
  4. Add the eggs one at a time
  5. Dissolve the bicarb in the milk
  6. Add the dry ingredients alternatively with the milk mixture
  7. Stir in the fruit
  8. Bake for one hour

Orange Syrup:

  • Juice of two oranges
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 Teaspoon orange peel
  • 1 Cup sugar
  1. Mix all the ingredient
  2. Bring to the boil and stir until all the sugar has been dissolved
  3. Simmer for about 5 minutes
  4. Let it cool completely in the fridge
  5. Pour over the hot cake as it comes from the oven.

Spiced Apple Butter Roll Recipe

Spiced Apple Butter Roll Recipe

What You Need:

  • 3 eggs, separated
  • 1 C flour, divided
  • 1/2 C + 1 T sugar, divided
  • 2 t cinnamon
  • 1 t baking powder
  • 1 t ginger
  • 1 t cloves
  • 1/4 t baking soda
  • 1/4 C butter, melted
  • 1/4 C molasses
  • 2 T water
  • 1 T confectioners' sugar
  • 2 C prepared apple butter

How to Make It:

  1. Place the egg whites in a small mixing bowl and allow the whites to stand at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  2. Place a piece of wax paper on a large cookie sheet.
  3. Spray the wax paper with a non stick cooking spray.
  4. Sprinkle the prepared wax paper with 1 T of flour and 2 T of sugar then set aside.
  5. Set the oven temperature to 375 degrees and allow the oven to preheat.
  6. Place the remaining flour and sugar into a large mixing bowl.
  7. Stir in the cinnamon, baking powder, ginger, cloves and baking soda.
  8. Whisk the egg yolks and butter together in a separate bowl.
  9. Add the molasses and water and whisk until well combined.
  10. Add the egg yolk mixture to the flour mixture.
  11. Use one of the Cuisinart Sm-55 5-1/2-Quart Stand Mixers on low speed and beat the mixture until the dry ingredients are completely moistened.
  12. Beat the egg whites with the electric mixer on medium speed until soft peaks form.
  13. Fold the egg whites into the batter.
  14. Spread the batter evenly onto the prepared pan.
  15. Bake 14 minutes or until the cake bounces back when lightly touched.
  16. Cool the cake for 5 minutes.
  17. Lay a kitchen towel on a flat surface and dust with the confectioners' sugar.
  18. Place the cake on the towel and roll the cake like a jelly roll.
  19. Allow the cake to cool to room temperature.
  20. Unroll the cake and spread with the apple butter not quite to the edges.
  21. Reroll the cake, place in a pan, cover and refrigerate for 1 hour before slicing.

Make A Traditional Butter Cake With One Of The Cuisinart SM-55 5-1/2-Quart Stand Mixers

"Modern" Butter Cake

Ingredients You Will Need:

  • 5 Tablespoons of soft butter
  • ½ Cup lukewarm milk
  • 1 ½ Cups of castor sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 ¾ Cups of sifted cake flour
  • 3 Teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 Teaspoon of vanilla essence
Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Prepare two 8 ½ inch cake pans by lining them with non-stick paper and greasing the pans with butter
  3. Add all the ingredients to the bowl of one of the Cuisinart SM-55 5-1/2-Quart Stand Mixers    
  4. Stir it through once with a wooden spoon to start the mixing process

  7. Bake for 30 minutes until done
  8. Let the cake cool down in the pans for a little while and then turn them out
