Here is one such a recipe for you.

"Modern" Butter Cake

Ingredients You Will Need:

  • 5 Tablespoons of soft butter
  • ½ Cup lukewarm milk
  • 1 ½ Cups of castor sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 ¾ Cups of sifted cake flour
  • 3 Teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 Teaspoon of vanilla essence
Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Prepare two 8 ½ inch cake pans by lining them with non-stick paper and greasing the pans with butter
  3. Add all the ingredients to the bowl of one of the Cuisinart SM-55 5-1/2-Quart Stand Mixers
  4. Stir it through once with a wooden spoon to start the mixing process
  5. Beat the mixture for 2 minutes until well mixed and smooth in your Cuisinart SM-55 5-1/2-Quart Stand Mixer
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pans
  7. Bake for 30 minutes until done
  8. Let the cake cool down in the pans for a little while and then turn them out
If you are not completely happy with the end result, try experimenting with the time you actually beat your mixture until you get a satisfactory result. If you mix it until it is smooth you should not have any problems. The cake can be iced and decorated as you prefer. I'm sure if you use one of the Cuisinart SM-55 5-1/2-Quart Stand Mixers your family will be able to enjoy this old-fashioned, moist cake very often.
